Pickleball Nets
There are two general categories of pickleball nets: fixed and portable. Fixed pickleball nets have posts which are set into the court surface. Portable pickleball nets, by contrast, sit on the surface of the court and are easily taken away once the game is over.
Portable pickleball nets come in three styles: one-piece, multi-piece and cannister style. One-piece pickleball nets like the first one below are the most popular because they are highly portable and easy to set up. They weigh less than five pounds and are constructed in a way that makes it impossible to lose any pieces.
Multi-piece pickleball nets are also fairly popular, but are more difficult to assemble. They also have the added disadvantage of having several pieces, some of which can get lost. When this happens, the whole set can become useless.
Cannister-style pickleball nets consist of posts set into cannisters which are themselves filled with water or sand. The problem with these nets is that the plastic bases are not very durable and a single leak can ruin an entire hardwood floor.
Portable Pickleball Nets
Although the WILSON PORTABLE NET was designed for tennis, not pickleball, many clubs are using it because it does the job. At 18′ wide, it is not quite wide enough to cover the entire width of the court. However it is approximately the right height at the posts and can be adjusted to the right height for pickleball in the center.
The great advantage to this net is its portability. Volunteers can set it up and put it away in less than a minute. And since this is a one-piece frame, it is not possible to lose any of the pieces.
Extremely light and highly portable. Packs into a single bag. One adult male can carry six EZ Nets at once.
OK Pickleball has sold these pickleball nets to more pickleball programs in Canada than any other brand.
